Course Description:
This course helps public safety communications professionals understand and reduce their exposure to liability. Through practical lessons and case studies from around the country, participants learn basic legal concepts, elements of a lawsuit, federal laws impacting communications centers, and strategies to minimize risk for themselves and their agencies. The course emphasizes real-world application, courtroom awareness, and actionable steps to strengthen policies, training, and day-to-day operations.

Target Audience:
This course is designed for experienced public safety communications personnel, including telecommunicators, supervisors, trainers, and managers, who are responsible for call-handling quality, policy compliance, training, and overall liability reduction within a communications center.

TCOLE documentation will be made available to the Agency Training Coordinator or Administrator for outside course reporting.  Note: Not all agencies have approved the course content for reporting, please check with your designated agency representative.
