Training 9-1-1 Heroes: Keeping It Positive in Dispatch

The PSAP can be full of negativity. It is important to recognize negativity and be familiar with ways to conquer it. This course will cover the importance of attitudes in the PSAP.

Students will learn:

• Components of attitude
• Traits of a positive attitude
• Negative attitudes in dispatch
• The dangers of gossip
• The "Four Agreements"
• The consequences of a negative PSAP
• Burn-out
• Ways to deter negativity

TCOLE documentation will be made available to the Agency Training Coordinator or Administrator for outside course reporting.
