About The Event

As of September 1, 2021 H.B. 786 requires the continuing education provided to telecommunicators to include CPR training that satisfies three, specific, criteria listed below.

"The commission (TCOLE) shall require a state, county, special district, or municipal agency that employs telecommunicators to require telecommunicator who provides dispatch for medical emergencies to receive training, including continuing education training, in telecommunicator cardiopulmonary resuscitation. The training must:

  • use the most current nationally recognized emergency cardiovascular care guidelines
  • incorporate recognition protocols for out-of-hospital cardiac arrest
  • provide information on best practices for relaying compression-only cardiopulmonary resuscitation instruction to callers."

TCOLE is finalizing course number for TCPR. We will await TCOLE's direction and finalization of course.
