Course Description:

Some 9-1-1 callers present more of a challenge than others.

This class is designed to provide the attendees with a variety of skills to process some of the most challenging calls and callers. Topics include: the basics, calming techniques, customer service, how to defuse anger, annoying and difficult callers, crisis callers, communications techniques, active listening, psychotic callers, shootings, homicides, and multiple call situations.

TCOLE documentation will be made available to the Agency Taining Coordinator or Administrator for outside course reporting.  Note: Not all agencies have approved the course content for reporting, please check with your designated agency representative; in some instances, reporting will be made on behalf of attendees by a Region 4 representative.  Two sign-in sheets will be provided in those instances and participants will be required to sign in on both.
